Example: off-duty stock return and report
Build a handover flow without confusing duty status, inventory filing and report delivery.
Guide reviewed 14 September 2026 · Controls depend on your app version and access.
Before you begin
Confirm the user’s inventory assignment, return destination, filing rule and the supported workflow actions. Test with an authorised training case first.
01Start with the off-duty event
Choose When a user goes off duty / files closure. Check the event fields and restrict the conditions to the intended transition or people.
02Return the correct user’s stock
Add Return Remaining Stock and use the event’s user. Check the shift date and configured return destination. An optional destination override requires special care because it changes where stock lands.
03Prepare the report scope
Add Export Report where supported, choosing the report and relevant date range. Review what the action actually returns.
04Choose the actual recipient
If using Send Report, select the supported To user recipient. Do not assume a manager, role group or email list will be resolved unless that exact action supports it. The current operational catalogue describes a notification rather than a durable file attachment.
05Review the whole handover
After the event, inspect return filing and report/notification results individually. The person becoming off duty is not evidence that remaining stock was successfully returned.
Check the result
The stock-return result and the intended report notification are both confirmed for the right user and date.
If something does not look right
If a filing is blocked by the location’s once-per-day or once-per-shift rule, reconcile the existing filing first. If a report notification is absent, check recipient access and the step result rather than repeating the stock return.
