Find and maintain customer context

Keep customer identity and contact details consistent across transactions.

Guide reviewed 14 September 2026 · Controls depend on your app version and access.

Before you begin

Use the customer record appropriate to your organisation. Similar names may refer to different businesses or branches.

  1. 01Search before creating

Look for the customer using its known name or identifier. Open its details and compare the information you have.

  2. 02Review business and contact details

Check the display or legal name and relevant address or contact fields. Use supported editing actions only for verified corrections.

  3. 03Follow related work

Open related sales, orders or payments where available. Check that the same customer identifier follows through the record.

  4. 04Use verification carefully

Where OTP verification is enabled, use it with the person’s knowledge and the correct contact details. Do not repeatedly send codes to an unrelated or mistyped contact.

Check the result

The customer record is unambiguous and related transactions belong to that customer.

If something does not look right

If duplicate customer records exist, ask an administrator how to resolve them. Do not delete a record that may be referenced by business history.
