Use Settings without changing the wrong scope

Understand which preferences affect your device and which govern your organisation.

Guide reviewed 14 September 2026 · Controls depend on your app version and access.

Before you begin

Read the setting label and access requirement before changing it. Administrator settings may affect other users.

  1. 01Set personal presentation

Review language, timezone, date/time and number-format preferences. Use a consistent timezone when comparing records from different surfaces.

  2. 02Review workspace settings

Where authorised, check business identity, inventory/location configuration, roles and policy settings. These are operational controls, not just appearance changes.

  3. 03Configure notifications and calls

LiveLink call preferences include incoming ringtone, silent mode on this device, volume and gradual volume. Changing a ringtone does not revoke another person’s permission to call.

  4. 04Save and verify in context

Confirm the setting saved and inspect the affected screen or workflow. Do not assume every toggle is available under every plan.

Check the result

The intended setting changed at the right scope, without unintentionally changing another team’s workflow.

If something does not look right

If a setting is disabled or rejected, check the required management permission. Changing local display preferences will not fix server permissions or stock policy.
