Return remaining stock at closure
Understand how a field user’s stock returns when their work is closed.
Guide reviewed 14 September 2026 · Controls depend on your app version and access.
Before you begin
Confirm the user’s active field location, its configured return destination and the filing rule. Duty closure and stock-return completion are separate outcomes.
01Review the location configuration
Check which field location is assigned to the user and where remaining stock should return. The filing policy can be once per day or once per shift.
02Check the quantities
Review positive on-hand balances and each item’s unit before filing. A return applies to the inventory associated with that field location.
03Use the supported closure return
Follow the manual filing process or a supported Return Remaining Stock automation. For a late filing, use the appropriate shift date rather than assuming today is correct.
04Verify destination and result
Inspect the filing result, transfer or resulting balances. If an explicit return-location override is available, use it only after confirming the destination and authority.
Check the result
The closure filing has a confirmed result and the expected stock is recorded at the intended return location.
If something does not look right
An off-duty event can occur while return work is still incomplete. Check the filing sequence, date and location policy before retrying; a once-per-day or once-per-shift rule can prevent a duplicate.
